ABLE Youth hosted the annual Music City Hoopfest today. The Thunder team beat 2 teams from Georgia but could not handle North Carolina. Our goal will be to practice hard to give them a better game when we visit North Carolina next month.
The team was supported by the Music City Thunder Cheerleaders who did a great job...

Memorial Day at Through the Green
Nathaniel played his first ever REAL round of golf with Grandpa Ralph who was visiting for the Memorial Holiday. Nathaniel played great (I knew he would) and it was heartwarming to see him playing golf with his grandfather. Thanks to Through the Green for their incredible hospitality. Keep up the good work Nathaniel.

National Basketball Tournament
The ABLE Youth Music City Thunder JV wheelchair basketball team traveled to Peoria, Illinois to participate in the National Tournament. Thunder won 2 games, and lost 2 games, and ended the 2006-07 season ranked 11th in the nation. They played more like a team than ever before. Congratulations to Kaylah, who was named to the 2nd All Tournament team.

Georgia Basketball Tourney
The ABLE Youth JV wheelchair basketball team Music City Thunder competed in a tournament last weekend in Georgia and won every game they played. Thunder beat Georgia 29 - 22, beat Birmingham Lakeshore 42 - 12, then spanked North Carolina 47 - 19. The kids are really starting to gel with each other, and played their best basketball of the season at this tournament. Before their first game of the weekend the team was surprised with new Thunder Jackets for all their hard work and determination. Thunder heads off to Peoria, IL in a few weeks to participate in the JV National Tournament.
