We held our annual ABLE Youth junior wheelchair basketball tournament over the weekend and it was nothing short of amazing. Our Thunder Varsity team came in third place, and our Nathaniel Woodard was named tourney MVP. Our Thunder Prep team won their division championship game in QUADRUPLE overtime. It was unbelievable. I think what touched me most was watching our Varsity team huddle around the smaller, younger prep players during the overtime and timeouts. The gym was crazy loud, and I am not sure I will ever forget the feeling in that gym, and the smiles on our kids' faces. Priceless, for sure.
Great photo!! Thunder Prep, Champs at last. Way to go!!!!! Hectic weekend and it seemed the Prep & Varsity Games were always close to the same time. The Madness truly did start at the door. What a gym full of excitement all day long. Thanks to all who made the Greatest Tournament we have ever hosted possible. Coaches who have been around for over 10 yrs commented that it was the best they ever attended. It was the Team work on & off the court that made it possible. Thanks to our sponsors. like Fleet One, Academy Sports, Best Buy, A Game, Johnny Guitars, Morgan's Uncle and others. Thanks especially to our volunteers from Belmont , Fleet One, Hands on Nashville and of course our parents. A special Thank You to Byron & Karen, with out the two of your efforts we would surely have faltered. On to Birmingham and hopefully a dual Conference Championship for both Prep & Varsity
